At Burch Milk, we believe in not only sourcing the highest quality organic ingredients, but also that you deserve to know where these ingredients come from and why they’re good for your health.  Nourishing our body with natural and nutritional food is essential to maintaining good health; after all, everything we eat is either fueling disease or fighting it. So why nut milk? Raw nuts lower elevated blood sugar levels and high blood pressure to fight metabolic syndrome, and each nut has it’s own arsenal of health benefits!

Almonds

The only way to ensure that your nuts have not been fumigated is to buy them directly from the supplier, that’s why our almonds come directly from Bremner Farms  in California, where 90% of the world’s almonds grow.  The combination of the coastal mountain ranges and the snow in the Sierra Mountains makes the taste of California almonds unbeatable.

Nutrition: Similar to olive oil, almonds are high in Vitamin E and monounsaturated fats, aka healthy fats. These fats are linked to a reduced risk of heart disease. Along with this, almonds lower cholesterol when they replace other protein sources.

Cashews 

Nutrition: Looking for something with a little less fat? Look no further than our cashew milk! Cashews have a lower fat content than many other nuts and 82% of their fat is good-for-you unsaturated fatty acids, and 66% of their unsaturated fatty acids are heart-healthy monounsaturated fats! Cashews contain vitamins E, K, and B6, as well as minerals like copper, phosphorus, zinc, magnesium, and iron, which help maintain good body function.

Hazelnuts

Grown in the Lorane Valley of Oregon, Trufflebert Farms never fails to disappoint with their 100% organic and all natural hazelnuts. Oregon has always been known for its superior hazelnuts, earning it the title of the official state nut in 1989. Hazelnuts are unique for many reasons, some being that its trees can produce until they’re over eighty years old, and they bloom and pollinate in the winter.

Nutrition: Hazelnuts’ unique flavor is complimented by the fact that they are rich in unsaturated fats, high magnesium, calcium, and vitamins B and E, making them beneficial to your heart, muscles, skin, joints, and digestive health, and they help to reduce the risk of cancer.

Macadamias 

Did you know that not all nuts are created equally? In fact, due to state laws, big companies are able to import nuts, package them in Hawaii, and still label them as “Hawaiian macadamia nuts.” However, we know that you can taste quality, so our macadamia nuts are 100% Hawaiian grown by Lions Gate Farm.

Nutrition: Macadamia nuts’ delicious taste isn’t the only reason we use them - it’s also their high flavonoid count. Flavonoids are ingested, and then turned into antioxidants in our body, which destroy free radicals, ultimately helping to protect us against disease. Like almonds, macadamias have high monounsaturated fats that help lower cholesterol and decrease your risk of heart disease and stroke. They also contain copper, which assists with the utilization of iron, proper enzymatic reactions, and improve connective tissues. Along with this they contain B1 and magnesium, which aide in creating healthy neurotransmitters that send chemical signals in our brain.

Nutrition: Dates are one of the best contributors to muscle development. They are rich in fiber and minerals such as calcium, iron, potassium, and phosphorous. Eating a date before a meal has long been used to avoid overeating.  Dates are composed of simple sugars, making it an easily digestible sweetener.

Vermont Maple Syrup 

It’s no secret that Vermont has the best maple syrup around, that’s why we sweeten our milk using Hidden Springs’ organic maple syrup. We use maple syrup since it has a lower glycemic index than cane sugar, it is full of antioxidants, and it helps protect skin health. It also contains zinc, manganese, potassium, and calcium!
